Exploration of the Application of Blockchain Technology in the Field of Food Safety
Food safety is a core issue related to public health and social stability. Current food supply chains face prominent problems such as information opacity, low traceability efficiency, and difficulty in liability determination, making traditional traceability systems unable to meet the needs of full-chain supervision. Focusing on the application of blockchain technology in food safety, this paper systematically analyzes its application logic and implementation paths in all links of food production, processing, circulation, and sales based on the technical characteristics of blockchain “decentralization, immutability, full traceability, and transparency.” Research shows that blockchain technology can break the information barriers among all participants in the food supply chain, build a full-life-cycle traceability system “from farm to table,” provide technical empowerment for food safety supervision, and help improve the level of food quality and safety assurance, which has important practical significance and application prospects.
